18th Century Manor House Skirting & Architrave
This house in the sixties was so called modernised, mouldings were ripped out suspended ceilings were put in.
The person who now owns it wanted it back to its original state, when the suspended ceiling was taken out underneath was a beautiful lattice cornice ceiling but it had been damaged when the suspended ceiling had been put in, he brought master craftsmen in to repair the ceiling back to its original state.
I replaced timber architraves and skirting from this 18th century manor house, architrave size175mm x 44mm thick with a tremendous amount of intricate detail.
Matching skirting 400mm high x 44mm thick made in two sections. Drawings were made from existing mouldings still in place measured and transferred to scale onto graph paper, then taken to the workshop for cutter’s to be made then set up onto cutter blocks.
Next the timber is prepared to size, and then the moulding of the timber starts.
